Community Newsletter
Dear QCEC Brothers & Sisters,
In the last email newsletter about a month ago we included information about the need for members to step up and fill vacancies on the Quad Cities Board of Directors. Well, it’s been a little over a month and we did not hear from anyone. You probably have heard of the 80/20 rule where 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people. Well Quad Cities Emmaus is closer to 100/5 where 100% of the work is being done by 5% of the people. Currently most of the positions on the board are vacant or soon will be vacant as members finish their time on the board. If we cannot get the positions filled soon we will not be able to continue having walks. The Quad Cities Emmaus community is governed by the Upper Room. Each year the board members sign a covenant with the Upper Room that we will abide by their rules and in exchange for signing the covenant we can use the names, logos and materials provided by the Upper Room. The problem now is that we don’t have enough members on the board to constitute an active board and will not be able to continue as an active community. So, I ask everyone to please prayerfully consider stepping up and help us build this community back. Covid over the past years has done a lot of damage to business and the Emmaus community is no different. To get us back on track, community members need to become active and re-engage. If God moves on your heart and you want to find out more about serving on the board, please feel free to personally contact Bob, Eric, Lynn or Pat at the gathering, prep weekend, during the walk weekends, or reach us at the info below:

Community Letter
Hello QCEC Family,
I hope & pray all is well with everyone. The EXPECTATIONS & EXCITEMENT are starting to really ramp up for the 2023 FALL WALK WEEKENDS. The teams are getting ready and will have their prep weekend OCTOBER 6-8.If you are not on team this weekend is a great opportunity to serve and help out. The kitchen will be cooking and serving meals and lots of help if you can come out for a day or for a few hours, it will take the stress off the team that is putting the weekend together so the weekend team can focus on preparing for the walk weekends.
The Walks are fast approaching now is the time to get your candidates registered and locked in. As these teams prepare it is so stressful to not know if the weekend is going to happen or if it will be cancelled due to lack of pilgrims. Please be in prayer and boldly ask those people God has laid on your heart. And let’s get these walks filled so the teams can go through the PREP WEEKEND with the joy of knowing their weekends are a go.Walk #127 (Men) – October 26 – 30
&
Walk #128 (Women) – November 02–05
If you were at any of the weekend events this past SPRING 2023, you’ll remember I offered a challenge of striving to reach a target of: SPONSORING 20 PILGRIMS for each of the 2023 FALL WALKS WEEKENDS.
LET’S GIT’R’DONE

QC EmmausOur Scripture:
Matthew 25:31-3631) ”But when the Son of Man comes in His Glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit upon His glorious throne. 32) All the nations will be gathered in His presence, and He will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33) He will place the sheep at His right hand and the goats at His left”. 34)Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.
Our Prayer:
Almighty and Sovereign LORD, all glory and honor goes to you for your mighty acts to redeem, to save, to fulfill, and to Bless your people throughout the ages. We ask, dear LORD, please Bless your people today with Faith to expect your power, hearts to obey your Word, and eyes to see that your magnificent work is not yet done. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
God Bless,
